Mission Statement
JAM Ministries is an organization that seeks to enrich worship in the church and
in the lives of believers by growing participants through discipleship and through
education in the areas of worship arts. Worship Arts may include choral music, visual
arts in all available media, drama, and other means that will enrich the worship
experience of a congregation or individuals. JAM Ministries hosts Camp JAM, an
overnight camp with excellent clinicians and teachers and camp fellowship and fun.
Vision Statement
JAM Ministries seeks to provide opportunities for students (children and youth) to
worship and to grow in the skills and gifts needed to lead and support worship. It is our
goal for campers to become life-long worshippers who participate actively and
passionately in worship in their churches, and we hope to nurture the call to both
vocational ministry and volunteer participation in worship.
Welcome to Camp JAM!
Camp JAM focused on Jesus, Arts, and Music! Camp JAM
is a venture born out of several churches in Alabama who believe that children and
youth have a valuable place in worship as participants and as leaders. We have seen
the impact that music and art can have in the lives of believers, and we want to see
individuals become both passionate and excellent in their worship.
Camp Jam 2025 will be held at The Vision retreat center in Huntsville, Alabama.
There will be rehearsals and instruction in both the youth and children’s divisions.
Campers will be a part of a choir based on their grade level. We will also offer other
classes for both youth and children. Children will rotate through pre-set classes, and
youth will be able to choose their classes. Visual art, rhythm/percussion, and handbells
are a few of the classes that we plan to offer.
We will also have the camp fun you would expect. The Vision offers swimming,
canoeing, low and high ropes, zip lining, and more! These extra activities will depend on
age. More information will be given about that after registration closes.
The total cost for Camp JAM is $300. It includes all meals from lunch on
Wednesday through lunch on Saturday, lodging, instruction and supplies, sheet music,
and a T-shirt. Volunteers and staff will be trained in Ministry Safe policies, and they will
be background checked and screened.
Ken is currently the Minister of Music/ Worship Pastor at First Baptist Church in
Guntersville, Alabama. He has served the church since 2007. Ken and his wife,
Tammy, have been married for 36 years. They have two daughters who are married
and two grandchildren. Ken has been a believer and follower of Jesus since he was ten
years old. He accepted the call to the gospel ministry at the age of 15. He earned a
Music Education degree from Samford University and a religious education degree from
New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. He has served on staff at six different
churches since he was 18 years old. He has directed choirs of all ages. Ken taught
choral music at Opelika High School for two years and had award winning show choirs
during that time. He taught K-12 music in the Lee County School district for 5 years
(Beauregard Elementary, Sanford Middle School and Beauregard High School.) He
taught choir at Lamar School in Meridian, Mississippi for 5 years. While in Meridian,
Ken served as the director of the Meridian Barbershop Chorus. Ken plays many
instruments and leads a bluegrass gospel band called the Guntersville FBC Pickers. He
is also a singer and songwriter.
Sadie Wall is the music specialist at Edgewood Elementary in Homewood, AL. There,
she teaches general music to grades Kindergarten through 5th and conducts the 4th
and 5th grade Edgewood Choir. Ms. Wall earned her Bachelor of Music from the
University of Montevallo and completed her Masters in Music Education at Texas Tech
University. She is a certified Kodály educator through the endorsed program at the
University of Montevallo, has attended additional levels at West Texas Kodály Initiative,
and holds her Level I certificate in Orff. Ms. Wall serves as President of the Sweet
Home Alabama Kodály Educators (SHAKE). She is the recipient of the 2021 Alabama
Music Educators Association Young Music Educator Award and the 2022-2023 Teacher
of the Year at Edgewood Elementary.
Ms. Wall joined the Birmingham Girls Choir staff in 2022 as director of Prelude. For her
own personal growth and fulfillment as a musician, Sadie Wall sings with the Alabama
Choral Society and plays clarinet in the Homewood Pops Community Band. She lives in
Birmingham with her husband (Matthew), dog (Olive), and cat (Okra).
